The Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) in the US is now accepting applications.
The Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) is one of the most internationally diverse, accessible pre-college programs in the world, bringing students from around the world to live on Yale’s campus during two week sessions.
The students are entitled to need-based tuition scholarships comprising of accommodation, food, curriculum materials and air-conditioned rooms.
Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) Information
Yale Young Global Scholars brings together high school students ages 16-18 from all around the world to live on Yale’s campus while attending two-week sessions organized by different tracks of academics.
This year, the YYGS students are moving to a different location. Students will now be living at the Benjamin Franklin and Pauli Murray Colleges at Yale. These dorms are easier to get to, in walking distance of downtown New Haven, and have air chilling technology.
Air chilling: Unlike traditional air conditioning, which uses an amount of energy which is not very sustainable to keep the rooms at a lower temperature, air chilling is a more sustainable method of keeping rooms significantly cooler and we are pleased to say that all student and staff rooms will be air chilled during YYGS 2026.

Eligibility Requirements for Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) 2026
In order to be considered for the Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) 2026, you must:
- be between the ages of 16 and 18 years at the beginning of the program
- Be a high school or equivalent student when applying for these scholarships
- have a good academic record and a sincere interest in the academic tracks being offered
- Prior to applying for this program, the applicant must meet the general eligibility criteria of YYGS Eligibility
Benefits of Yale Young Global Scholars 2026 (YYGS)
- YYGS offers Need Based Financial Aid (Up to 100% tuition) to all the domestic and international students.
- The tuition scholarship covers everything on-campus in the program (accommodation, meals, study materials, air-conditioned rooms, etc.).
- More than $3 million USD in financial aid and scholarships annually
- Fee waivers for students that have financial barriers (application fee reduced to $0)
Eligible Academic Tracks
Appointees to YYGS 2026 will live in Yale’s Benjamin Franklin and Pauli Murray Colleges and choose from three very exciting two-week academic programs:
- New Developments in the field of Science & Technology
- Politics of Law & Economics
- Solving Global Challenges
Each seminar is made up of lectures with Yale faculty, small group seminars with student to teacher ratios of 12:1, and collaborative projects with students from all over the world.
How to Apply for Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) (Step By Step)
In order to apply for the Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) Program, interested and qualified candidates should;

- In order to receive a financial aid, please fill out the whole online YYGS Application including Need-Based Financial Aid part, by January 7, 2026.
- Interested students can apply by the Early Action deadline to receive a discounted application fee.
- If the fee is a financial challenge students can apply for a fee waiver which reduces the application fee to zero USD.
- Your application for financial assistance will be reviewed and you will be notified of the outcome of your application by March 2026.
