The scholarship is only tenable at the University of Toronto for first entry, undergraduate programs. Each year approximately 37 students will be named Lester B. Pearson Scholars.
Requirements to get University of Toronto Scholarship 2026
In order to apply to the Pearson International University of Toronto Scholarship, you must be:
- An international student (this means a student who is not Canadian and is thus requiring a study permit);
- Currently on the final year of your secondary school or have graduated not earlier than June 2025
- Beginning your studies at the University of Toronto September 2026 (students already in post-secondary studies cannot be considered; students beginning your studies in January 2026 at another post-secondary institution cannot be considered).

How to apply for Lester B. Pearson Scholarship 2026 (Step by Step)
Interested students from all over the world can now apply. To apply you will need to follow the following steps:
- First, you must be selected from your school. High schools who were not already contacted/verified are requested to send in an application to be selected to participate in our program, and it is available here in September.(external link) High schools who participated in a previous year will be given their nomination access beginning in early September.
- Step 2: Apply to study at the University of Toronto(external link) to begin your studies in September 2025 and submit your application to be admitted by the appropriate deadlines (external link). Please be advised that you will be considered for the first choice program Pearson Scholarship for U of T programs.
Note: You can also apply for a number of programs and may get accepted to them all; however, the Pearson Scholarship, if it is awarded to you, would be limited to your number one choice of program at U of T, at the time our scholarship decisions are made. - Step 3: once the body of the University of Toronto Scholarship gives a nomination and you have applied to the University, you may fill in the online form of application Lester B Pearson Scholarship application.
