At Stanford University, the Knight-Hennessy Scholars supports a broad, multidisciplinary cohort of emerging leaders when they come together to learn to collaborate, innovate, and communicate with a diverse group of peers in preparation to solve the world s most complex challenges. Scholars will be able to expand the scope of knowledge, gain skills, and build character through the King Global Leadership Program, where they will undergo community experiences, workshops, encounters with leaders, domestic and international study courses and personal development options will be available.

The Knight-Hennessy Scholars are across all 7 schools at Stanford. The Knight-Hennessy Scholars are highly gifted and they constitute a diversity of scholars with different fields of knowledge. The program provides the platform to meaningfully develop leadership strengths, and enables you to make big world change in a positive fashion in the world.

Value/inclusions/duration of scholarship:

Knight-Hennessy scholars earn full funding of up to three years of any graduate degree(s) at Stanford. Knight-Hennessy Scholars, in the first 3 years of graduate-level study, receive:

• a graduate fellowship used to paying the tuition and incidental fees
• a living and academic stipend (e.g., room and board, books, academic supplies, instructional materials, local transportation expenses, and prudent personal expenses)
• a travel allowance to underwrite an economy valued ticket to and from Stanford per annum.

Additional funding by a particular year:

• Just entering scholars are provided a once-a-year relocation allowance to augment some of the expenditures related to moving to the region and/or a technology purchase
• Second and third year scholars can request additional monies to augment scholarly enrichment processes (e.g. traveling to conferences).​

Two baseline eligibility requirements are present.

To be eligible to receive the Knight-Hennessy Scholar (KHS) funds, you must be accepted to, enrol in, and complete a full-time Stanford graduate program to receive the Knight-Hennessy scholarship funds including, but not limited to DMA, JD, MA, MBA, MD, MFA, MPP, MS, or PhD programs. You have to regard at least one of four following conditions:

You will be applying independently yet simultaneously to KHS and a full-time Stanford graduate degree program so that you will begin both in the same year.
Deferral into a full-time Stanford graduate degree program has already been offered to you, and applicably KHS such that you will begin the programs with us both in that same year.
You are already a current Stanford graduate student, and you will apply to integrate a second full-time Stanford graduate degree program, such that you will begin both KHS and the new program in the same year.
You are a mid-career PhD student at Stanford in the fall of your second year of enrollment, and will apply to KHS in a way you will join KHS during the fall of your second year of PhD enrollment.
Second, you should have received as of January 2019 or at later time a bachelor degree in U.S. or a foreign equivalent degree awarded by a college/university of recognized status. You should have obtained your bachelor degree on or after January 2019 in order to apply to join the cohort in 2025.

In order to qualify within the scholarship you should apply independently alongside and to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program and to your Stanford graduate degree program. The Knight Hennesy Program accommodation is 8 October 2025, 1:00 pm Pacific Time.
