- Performs data entry into the court computer, correcting/verifying and entering data into the following court computer systems:Pending,disposed,microfilmed, criminal, civil and family information systems, using detailed data entry codes. Searches through the past.
- Collates, files and redirects documents appropriately, prints and provides index of the cases, and ensures that all files are in order and complete at all times. Uses assorted computer checkout systems and a shelf inventory index to further ensure accurate location of files and reproduces or retrieves files on request.
Facilitates the filing, analyzes and indexes of mass attorney general filings. - Answers telephone using multiline system and refers and responds to individuals, attorneys or County inquiries.
- Computes and bills out court and monetary-based expense of criminal cases in accordance to the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.
- Salary Research salary transactions and compute percentages to be reimbursed by the State agencies to calculate the amount of fees that should be paid in a civil law suit involving multiple case parties. Problems with Costs Bill to cover bills on outstanding fees and to elaborate complicated costs given in accordance to court judgment.
- Delivers summonses, subpoenas, citations, writs, warrants and other documents as authorized by law and directed by the requesting party, and promptly as ordered by the District Court and Court of Appeals; receives inquiries of the general public in regard to these documents.
- Assists with and supports department staff where necessary.
- Provides participation in appropriate county activities and responsibilities involved with emergency management in the event of a local state of disaster as directed.
Requirements by the Job
- GED/High School Diploma
- At least one year experience in general business.
- Good computer and data entry skills.
- Familiarity with use of MS Office Suite desirable.
- Good math and typing (minimum 40 WPM) skills.
- Excellent oral and written communications and understanding.
- Interpersonal communication skills and the ability to effectively relate with the people, other County workers, elected officials and fellow employees.
- Self drive personality and has the skills to prioritize and meet deadlines; versatile and able to handle the pressure of the fast-paced office.
- Skills in the acquisition of the documented office procedures and organization policies, both financial and mathematics.
- Should be adaptable on work assignments and place of work.
- A Valid Driver license and a proof of liability policy may be mandatory.
- Overtime is possible and even on weekends.
- Are required to attend to court frequently and to be free of any visible tattoos.
