Ares scholarships in Belgium for Developing countries
The ARES has to offer every year the possibility of following a higher education programme (advanced baccalaureate or master) or a 2-6 months continuing education in a Wallonia-Brussels higher education institution, Belgium.

Level/Areas of study:
Eligible post graduate degree (Bachelors, Masters, continuing education) courses in any of the following subjects: aquaculture, health, food technology, economics, international development, GIS, information technology, agriculture, environment, human rights, microfinance, etc.

Number of Awards:
A total of 130 bachelor and masters scholarships are offered as well as 70 continuing education scholarships.
Target group:
In Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Guinea, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, DR Congo, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda and Zimbabwe
In South America and the Caribbean: Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, Haiti, Peru
Southeast Asia Cambodia, Indonesia, Nepal, Philippines, Vietnam.
In Asia: Palestinian territory
value of the scholarship/inclusions
The scholarship includes covering the tuition fees (only those within the fields of bachelor or specialised master degrees), the international travel expenses, the subsistence allowance, the registration fees, visa costs as well as insurance, etc.
Eligibility:
be a permanent resident and work in one of the eligible countries (see the list below). Palestinian nationals: are also eligible even though they may not be residing in one of these 31 countries (see list above)
Have proper diploma To attend specialised masters and continuing education courses (Bac+5 equivalent), you must have a qualification equivalent to a 2 nd cycle degree (300 ECTS credits) in a Belgian university. Any specialised bachelor course (comparable to Bac+3) requires a 1st cycle higher education diploma (180 ECTS credits) that is equivalent to Belgian higher education.
Have a minimum of two years relevant professional experience in an ARES partner country.

To apply the scholarship you will be asked to create an account at GIRAF online and fill in the scholarship application form. Applications should be received on or earlier than 19 September 2025, at 12pm (Belgian time, UTC+1)
