Undergraduate Scholarships

• Chancellor Scholars Award: This scholarship is 75 to 100 percent of the tuition, laboratory, and housing charges.
• Merit Scholarship: This scholarship is an award that pays between 10 percent and 30 percent of tuition/laboratory fees.

Chancellor’s Scholars Award:

• A minimum average of 95 percent or equivalent in the last three years of secondary education

Merit Scholarship:

• Academically qualified applicants with a high school average equivalent to 90 percent or above in either (1) at least two of the last three years or (2) final year of secondary education.

Sharakah School Scholarship:

• Shown excellent personal character and leadership skills at school and at the community level.
• Has contributed scientifically or literary to his/her locality.
• Won special awards or honors of community service and school extra-curricular activities.
• A minimum high school average equivalent of 90 percent and above in either (1) in at least two of the three preceding years or (2) in final year of secondary school.

Masters Eligibility Requirements

• Admitted in good standing and fulfilling or surpassing all university and program level qualification requirements to be fully admitted. NB Students on conditional or probation status are ineligible to a GA.
• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.25. Certain graduate programs have extra and/or more stringent requirements.
• In the case of a full-time GA, enroll and successfully complete nine credit hours of graduate courses or have an enrolled thesis credit. In case of part-time GA, enroll and successfully finish six credit hours of graduate courses or enroll and successfully finish thesis credit.

PhD Eligibility Requirements

• Admitted in good standing by fulfilling or surpassing all university requirements and program-level requirements of full admission.
• Enroll and take at least six credit hours in every semester of education.
  Average a cumulative GPA of 3.25 in the course of your research in the PhD program at AUS.

Undergraduate Scholarships Application Process

• Chancellor’s Scholars Award: Applications from new students Newly admitted students have the following deadlines to apply to this scholarship: Fall Semester 2023: June 15, 2023.
• Merit Scholarship: Merit Scholarships will be automatically provided when the admission application is processed. It does not need a separate application.
• Sharakah School Scholarship: Deadline Schools to select/nominate the applicant and send the nomination to AUS: End of first week of July each academic year.

Masters Scholarships Application Process
New Students

• When you are a first year student, refer to the Graduate Academic Calendar to get the date of application.
• To do so you must have completed an Application to Graduate Admission with the box indicating consideration of assistantship checked and pertinent transcripts, addressed to the Office of Enrollment Management by the deadline designated in the application, and two reference letters.

Continuing Students

• The Provost makes final appointments of GA via the Office of Graduate Studies.

PhD Scholarships Application Process

• The PhD program requires applicants to fill in the PhD Assistantship Application Form and submit it together with the application to the program.
• The office of Graduate Studies makes final decisions regarding the appointment of GAs with the assistance of the PhD program coordinator to the Provost.
